This week on Discovering Truth with Dan Duval, Dr. Marlene Carson, PhD, is back on the show! About Dr. Marlene Carson:

She is a survivor of sex trafficking, getting exploited from the age of 15. She is now one of America’s foremost authorities on the subject of human trafficking and has become a major voice for justice. She has been featured on TEDx, TBN, the Washington Post, and many other media outlets.

Currently, Dr. Carson is on the U.S. Advisory Council for Human Trafficking with the White House.  She is a Surthriver of domestic, minor sex-trafficking; and she will be on the board for Bride Ministries’ Survivor Housing, in the near future. She has founded Rahab’s Hideaway, which is a residential treatment facility for trafficked victims and now runs The Switch.

My heart can’t handle it.’ And so, I kind of took a sabbatical in 2013… I closed down Rahab’s Hideaway as my own agency, and I gave it to my sister, who is still managing. She’s the CEO of Rahab’s Hideaway. And so, I started working in policy, that’s when I started The Switch. I started working in policy. I had almost made this inner vow, that I would never again do housing on my own. I would consult with people and teach them how to do it, but I didn’t want to do it. I didn’t want to do the direct services. So, right before COVID hit, I received a call that there was a building in beautiful Amish country… When I walked in it, I already knew we were going to get it. I just saw it, I saw the vision of it, Lord began to show me the rooms. It was amazing! So, we did a deal with this lady and we’re in the process of purchasing this building right now.” Marlene Carson
