The lesson plan

What each lesson covers

The course opens with a Course Introduction, then eight lessons.

  1. Course Introduction

Students meet four definitions of grace. Grace means unmerited favor. It also means the finished work, divine influence upon the heart, and God's ability.

  2. Grace and Law

Students learn the Hebrew and Greek words for grace and four accepted definitions. The lesson then compares law with grace using Romans 6:14 and John 1:17.

  3. Grace and Work

Students see how grace and works relate. The lesson draws on Romans 11:1-6, 1 Corinthians 15:10, and Ephesians 2:8-10.

  4. Frustrating The Grace

Students identify ways a believer can frustrate the grace of God. One way is building personal righteousness through the law (Galatians 2:21 and Romans 10:3-4).

  5. Grace and Gifts

The lesson defines charisma. This Greek word means gift. Students sort gifts into redemptive gifts, gifts of the Spirit, and ascension gifts.

  6. Grace and Provision

The lesson shows what the Bible says about grace and provision. Students study the rich young ruler and learn about grace upon the lips and through a pure heart.

  7. Grace to Overcome

Students learn how believers overcome by grace, using 2 Corinthians 12:9 and Romans 8:35-39. The lesson also states God's will for sickness, illness, and disease.

  8. Accepted by His Grace

Students learn what acceptance by grace means in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:6-7). The lesson defines the Beloved.

  9. Grace and the Coming Ages

Students look at Ephesians 2:7 and the ages to come. The lesson covers the functions of the Judgment Seat of Christ and the parable of the Minas in Luke 19:11-27.
