What to know when you arrive

RegistrationThursday, November 19 at 8:30 AM in the Galleria Foyer. Pick up your name badge there.
SessionsEvery session meets in the Galleria Ballroom. Doors open 30 minutes early. Opening worship is Thursday at 10:30 AM.
ParkingSelf parking is free in the Brown Garage, 2727 1/2 Sage Rd. Skip the Orange Garage, its mall door locks before evening sessions end.
HotelCheck in is 3:00 PM and check out is 12:00 PM. On Sunday you can store luggage in the Sage Room.
BringYour confirmation email on your phone, a Bible and journal, and a jacket. Hotel meeting rooms often run cool.

The Advance runs Thursday through Saturday. Sunday morning is a worship service for everyone who stays. Times may change, so check back before you travel.

Booked the Wednesday night add-on? Hotel check in begins at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, November 18. Registration opens Thursday morning.

Pick up your name badge at the registration desk in the Galleria Foyer, find your seat in the Galleria Ballroom, and settle in. Doors open 30 minutes before the opening worship gathering, which begins at 10:30 AM.

Not part of the Advance itself, but everyone is welcome. Dr. Francis Myles preaches. Hotel check out is at 12:00 PM. If you are leaving Sunday, check out before church and store your luggage in the Sage Room so you can stay through the service.

Luggage on arrival and departure

Arriving before check in or leaving after check out? On Sunday, luggage can be stored in the Sage Room while you attend church. Hotel check out is at 12:00 PM, so guests departing Sunday should check out before the service.

Airports and arrival

Houston has two airports. Hobby is closer and usually cheaper to ride from. Bush Intercontinental has more flights. Neither has a hotel shuttle to the Westin Galleria, so plan on rideshare, taxi, or a rental car.

Thursday arrival, one warning

The Houston Texans host a Thursday night home game at NRG Stadium on November 19, the same day the Advance opens. Kickoff is 7:15 PM and NRG sits about seven miles from the hotel. If you land Thursday afternoon or evening, build in extra time for traffic on the South Loop, and book your room early because Thursday night rates across the city will run higher than usual.

In an emergency at the venue, tell any Bride Ministries volunteer or the hotel front desk and call 911.

Weather and groceries

Expect highs in the low 70s and lows in the mid 50s, with a real chance of rain. Sunset is before 5:30 PM, so evenings come early.

Before you arrive

Does my day pass cover the whole Advance?

Yes. A day pass is the whole event, Thursday through Saturday, every session. The name refers to the pass type, not to a single day.

Where do I check in when I arrive?

The registration desk opens at 8:30 AM Thursday in the Galleria Foyer of the Westin Galleria. Sessions meet in the Galleria Ballroom, and doors open 30 minutes before each session. Bring your confirmation email or simply give your name.

What time does the Advance start and end?

The opening worship gathering starts at 10:30 AM CST on Thursday, with doors open at 10:00 AM. The final session ends at 9:00 PM Saturday. A Sunday worship service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with Dr. Francis Myles preaching, follows for everyone who stays. Hotel check out is at 12:00 PM, and luggage storage is available in the Sage Room on Sunday. The schedule is subject to change.

Is parking free?

Yes. Self parking in the Brown Garage is complimentary. The hotel offers overnight valet for $58, oversized overnight valet for $61, and daily valet for $34.

One thing worth knowing. Park in the Brown Garage at 2727 1/2 Sage Rd, not the Orange Garage. The Brown Garage has direct access to the hotel lobby and stays open outside mall hours. The Orange Garage is a shorter walk, but its mall door locks once the mall closes, and our evening sessions run later than that. Rates are set by the hotel and can change, so confirm at check in.

Will the sessions be recorded?

Yes. The sessions are being recorded, and recording access will be sent to attendees by email.

Is there children's church?

Yes, for children age 4 to 9. It is included with the $75 child day pass, and there are 25 spots. We will email parents who registered a child a link to sign up, so watch your inbox. Children age 3 and under, and children age 10 and older, stay with you in the sessions.

Is the Advance live streamed?

Yes. Live stream passes are $129, include recordings of the sessions, and are available on the registration page for anyone who cannot be in the room.

Are meals included?

No. Meals are on your own, with breaks built into the schedule. The Galleria food options are a few steps from the ballroom, and the Eat section above lists more within a ten minute walk.

Who qualifies for a child pass?

Child passes are for children age 15 and under.
